🍊 DIY Natural Hand Soap with Orange Peels and Castile Soap
Gentle on your skin—and gentle on the planet.
Living on a boat changes the way you think about the products you use. When your home floats, everything that goes down the drain ends up in the water beneath you—and that water is home to marine life, coral reefs, and delicate ecosystems.
That’s why I make this homemade orange peel hand soap. It’s all-natural, biodegradable, and free from the harsh chemicals found in commercial soaps that can harm aquatic plants and animals. Plus, it smells amazing and keeps your hands clean—without compromising your values.
Gentle, all-natural, and scented with real citrus—made right in your own kitchen.
If you’ve ever read the label on a store-bought hand soap, you’ve probably seen ingredients like fragrance, SLS, and preservatives you can’t pronounce. And if you’re like me, that’s a red flag—especially for something you’re putting on your hands multiple times a day.
This homemade hand soap skips all the synthetic stuff and relies on a few real ingredients that work with your skin, not against it. It’s lightly scented, gentle, effective, and—bonus—it’s a great way to reuse orange peels
Ingredients + What They Do

Why: Carries the citrus infusion and dilutes the soap for gentle daily use.

Purpose: The cleansing agent.
Why: Made from natural plant oils, castile soap is biodegradable, gentle on skin, and safe for marine environments.
🌿
1 tsp Vegetable Glycerin
