Herb Compound Butter

The most versatile of the compound butter, herb butter is an excellent addition to your fridge or freezer and will last up to 6 months in the freezer.

  1. beef
  2. pork
  3. chicken
  4. fish and seafood
  5. pasta
  6. rice
  7. bread for grilled cheese
  8. bread for toast rounds
  9. potatoes, mashed, baked, or roasted
  10. scrambled eggs
  11. sauteed vegetables
  12. on steamed vegetables

 

Herb Compound Butter

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp oregano chopped
  • 1 tbsp thyme chopped
  • 1 tbsp rosemary chopped
  • 1 tbsp basil chopped
  • 1 tbsp finely diced shallots
  • 2 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 tbsp spicy dijon mustard
  • hot sauce to taste
  • few drops of worstershire
  • 2 good pinches of kosher salt
  • a few grinds of fresh pepper

Instructions
 

  • mix all ingredients well
  • using parchment paper or plastic wrap roll the butter into a log about 6 inches long and 1 inch around
  • twist the ends and place in the fridge in an airtight bag
