There’s something truly special about Southern cooking—it’s a delightful blend of flavors, traditions, and a sprinkle of love in every family recipe. One dish that captured my heart and tastebuds is the whimsical yet comforting “Stick of Butter Rice.” While the original recipe is rich and savory, I’ve put a tropical twist on it by adding pineapple, transforming it into a dish that transports you straight to a sun-soaked beach.
For those unfamiliar, Stick of Butter Rice is a traditional Southern dish that combines rice, a stick (or two) of butter, and a handful of simple ingredients like broth and onion. It’s an easy, no-fuss one-pot meal that results in fluffy rice with a buttery flavor that’s hard to beat. It’s the kind of dish that graces the table during family gatherings, potlucks, or cozy weeknight dinners.
