Fall Spiced Mashed Sweet potatoes
Fall spiced mashed sweet potatoes are a warm and comforting side dish perfect for the autumn season. Made with creamy and fluffy mashed sweet potatoes, these potatoes are seasoned with a blend of fall spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. The combination of these spices adds a cozy and aromatic flavor to the dish. The sweet and creamy texture of the mashed sweet potatoes pairs well with the warm and earthy spices, making it a delicious addition to any fall meal. Whether served as a side dish for Thanksgiving dinner or as a simple side for a weeknight meal, fall spiced mashed sweet potatoes are sure to be a hit.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Scrub the sweet potatoes clean and pierce them with a fork a few times. This will allow steam to escape while baking. Place the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake the sweet potatoes for 45-50 minutes, or until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork. Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, carefully peel off the skin of the sweet potatoes. In a large mixing bowl, add the potatoes and the remaining ingredients. Mash the sweet potatoes with a potato masher or fork until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more spice blend, salt, pepper, or butter if needed.
