Elote Compound Butter

Creamy, savory, and full of zesty street corn flavor—this compound butter turns simple dishes into something unforgettable. Use it on grilled corn, roasted potatoes, steaks, sautéed veggies, or melt it over warm cornbread for a flavor-packed finish.
Servings 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp Homemade Elote Seasoning
  • 1 tsp  lime zest
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp finely crumbled cotija cheese optional
  • 1 tbsp  finely chopped fresh cilantro, optional

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, elote seasoning, cotija, lime zest, and lime juice. Stir until everything is fully incorporated and smooth.
If using cilantro, fold it in at the end.
Transfer the butter mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Shape into a log and roll tightly, twisting the ends to seal.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.
    Slice and use as needed.
  • Storage: Keeps for 2 week in the fridge or up to 6 months in the freezer. Wrap tightly to avoid absorbing other flavors.
  • Uses: Try it on grilled corn, roasted sweet potatoes, cornbread, steak, fish, or even scrambled eggs.
