The St Augustine Marina is truly a gem that many boaters and travelers have yet to discover. Located in the historic city of St. Augustine, Florida, this marina offers much more than just a place to dock your boat. With top-notch amenities and exceptional hospitality, it’s the perfect spot for a long-term stay or a quick stopover to explore the city.
From our experience of staying in the marina for 22 days, we can confidently say that it was one of the best marina experiences we’ve had. We initially reserved for only 2 nights, but ended up extending our stay three times because we couldn’t bear to leave the beautiful city and all its rich history. But what really stood out to us was the impeccable service and patience shown by the marina staff. After listening to their radio channel for 22 days, we were impressed by their professionalism and courtesy towards all their patience.
One of the standout services offered by the marina is their free water taxi service that picks you up from your boat and returns you to your boat six times a day. This is extremely convenient for those looking to explore the city without having to worry about releasing your dingy.
Additionally, the daily dockage fee also includes the use of their dinghy dock, showers, and laundry room. The showers, although not large, offer plenty of hot water and are kept clean. And the laundry room has four washers and dryers to accommodate all the boaters, At a charge of $2.00 a wash and $2.00 for the dryer and they are hot and will stay on long enough to insure your clothes are dry. They aslo offer with a change machine and laundry soap dispenser for your convenience.
But the marina doesn’t just cater to those staying overnight. They also offer hourly dockage for those who just want to stop by the city for the afternoon. However, reservations for hourly dockage are not accepted in advance. To dock your boat, simply radio the Marina Office on VHF CH. 16 or VHF CH. 71 upon arrival near the Bridge of Lions. The staff will then direct you to your slip assignment.
The marina also has a mooring field. The moorings are reserved based on the length and beam of your vessel and the duration of your visit. It’s important to note that if a mooring ball is open, it doesn’t mean it’s available for taking. You must contact the Marina Office for mooring assignment.
The rates for dockage and mooring vary depending on the length of your boat and your duration of stay. The marina also offers long-term commercial dockage for those wishing to conduct business within the marina. For more information on rates, you can always contact the Harbor Master via email or phone.
Another great feature of the marina is the dinghy dockage permits available for purchase. This allows you access to the secured restrooms, showers, laundry, and lounge. However, motorized vessels over 12 feet in length are not allowed for dinghy dockage.
In conclusion, the St Augustine Marina is a must-visit for all boaters and travelers. We can’t thank the staff enough for their exceptional service and hospitality during our 22-day stay. With its prime location in the historic city of St. Augustine and top-notch amenities, this marina has become one of our favorite spots to dock our boat. We can’t wait to go back.
