It’s that musty boat smell we are always trying to combat, that seems to linger in your closet and dresser draws, and i hate pulling a shirt over my head, that was laundy fresh when it went into the drawer and now smells musty
So I make these inexpensive and easy-to-make sachets to place in my drawers and closet.
I refresh them about every three months, and you can pick any sent you like.
I use rice and rock salt together because they absorb moisture, but you can leave the rock salt out.
all you need is some essential oils, rice, rock salt and the materials for the method you choose.
1.the easiest one to make is with tule and string
Add one cup of rice to a bowl, stir in about 20 drops of your essential oil and one cup of rock salt, and mix well.
I cut the tule into an eight by eight-inch square and, using two pieces, add 1/4 cup of your rice mixture to the center and tie with your string.
2. If you want to make a more secure sachet, you will need scrap material, iron-on hem adhesive, and an iron.
Now I cut my material to make an eight-inch by eight-inch square, and I start with a large sachet, so I can cut the top off, refresh the rice and salt, and reuse it multiple times.
Simple iron the edges over an inch or so and on half iron on the adhesive
Next, fold over and iron the sides together.
Add the additive to one side and fill with your rice and salt.
Iron close, and now you have your smelling good sachet.
