Snickerdoodle French Toast
A cozy twist on classic French toast, flavored with Snickerdoodle Spice Mix for that warm, cinnamon-cardamom sweetness.
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 15 minutes mins
- 6-8 slices bread (thick-cut works best)
- large eggs (about 1 egg per 2 slices bread)
- 3/4-1 cup heavy cream (for a rich custard; milk can be substituted for a lighter version) about 1/4 cup per egg
- 2 tbsp Snickerdoodle Spice Mix
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Butter, for cooking
Heat skillet: Place a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter so it’s ready before dipping the bread.Make custard: In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, heavy cream (or milk), vanilla, and Snickerdoodle Spice Mix until smooth.Dip bread: Quickly dip each slice of bread into the custard, about 20–30 seconds per side, just until coated but not soggy.Cook: Transfer dipped slices directly to the hot skillet. Cook until golden brown on each side, about 2–3 minutes per side.Serve: Sprinkle with extra Snickerdoodle Spice Mix and serve with maple syrup.
Notes
Standard custard ratio: 1 egg + ¼ cup cream (or milk) = ~2 slices bread.Heavy cream makes the custard rich and decadent; milk is a lighter option.Slightly stale bread works best since it soaks up custard without getting soggy.
