Slow Cooker Indian Butter Chicken
Cooking butter chicken in a slow cooker not only simplifies the process but also enhances the flavors. - 1 cup Chicken stock
- 6 oz Tomato paste
- 2 cups Tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup Whole plain yogurt
- 1 can Coconut milk
- 1 tbsp Gochujang
- 1/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 1 tsp Freshly cracke black pepper I recomend white or mixed
- 1 tbsp Tumeric
- 1 ½ tbsp Curry powder
- 1 tbsp Graham marsala
- 1 Lime the zest and juice
- 2 tbsp Freashly grated ginger
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 small Onion diced
- 2-3 pounds Chicken thighs, cubed
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- cilantro is an optional garnish
Add all of the ingredients minuse the chicken, butter and cream, and stir to combine.
Add the chicken and stir well.
cook for either 3-4 hours on high or 6 hours on low.
Once there’s 10 minutes left in the cooking, add the butter and heavy cream and stir to combine. If it’s on high, switch the slow cooker to slow setting. Cover and finish the last 10 minutes of cooking.
Before serving, taste the butter chicken and adjust seasoning if needed.
Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro for an added burst of freshness. Serve your slow-cooked Indian Butter Chicken with steamed basmati rice, naan, and don’t forget some mango chutney or cucumber raita on the side for a complete Indian feast!
