Pine & Orange Vinegar Cleaner

A simple homemade cleaner made by infusing vinegar with orange peels and pine. It cuts grease, soap scum, and hard water while using real ingredients, no fillers, no unnecessary extras.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Infuse: 14 days

Ingredients

  • Orange peels (from about 3-4 oranges, loosely packed)
  • fresh pine needles about 2 cups
  • White vinegar (5% acidity), enough to fill a ½ gallon jar

Optional:

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the Ingredients

Rinse orange peels and pine needles to remove any residue.
Break peels into smaller pieces to help them infuse.

    2. Fill the Jar

Add pine needles first (if using), then orange peels.
Fill the jar loosely, do not pack tightly.

    3. Add Vinegar

Pour vinegar over everything until fully submerged.
Leave about 1–2 inches of space at the top.

    4. Infuse

Seal the jar and store in a cool, dark place.
    Let sit for 2–4 weeks.
Shake gently every few days if you think about it.

    5. Strain

Strain out solids using a fine mesh strainer or cloth.
Transfer the infused vinegar to a clean container.

    6. Use

Mix 1:1 with water for everyday cleaning
Use full strength for tougher jobs

    ⚠️ Where NOT to Use

    Natural stone (granite, marble, quartzite)
    Unsealed wood
    Screens or electronics
    Waxed or specialty finishes
Use lightly on grout, not for heavy or repeated scrubbing

Notes

  • Vinegar is the primary cleaner, the infusion enhances it
Use vinegar labeled 5% acidity for best results
This is a cleaner, not a disinfectant
