Maple Bacon Brussel Sprouts
Maple bacon brussel sprouts are a delicious and savory side dish made from roasted brussel sprouts, crispy bacon pieces, and a sweet maple glaze. - 1 pound 1 lb. Brussels sprouts trimmed, tough leaves removed, and halved
- 4 Slices bacon not center cut
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp Freshly cracked pepper
- 2 tbsp Pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp Tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tsp Spicy brown or whole-grain mustard
Optional add ins
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup pecans
Turn oven to 425°
Cook bacon in your cast iron pan until almost crispy
If you do not have a pan that can go from stovetop to oven, then cook your bacon, and place your brussel sprouts in a bowl, and place a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
Remove the bacon from the pan, and set aside.
If you did not render at least 1 tablespoon of bacon fat, add 1 tablespoon of love oil.
Add the Brussels to the pan with the salt and pepper and toss well.
Flip the brussels cut side down and place in the oven for 25 minutes.
While the brussels roast, whisk together the maple syrup, mustard, and tamari.
Dice up your bacon
When the brussels come out of the oven toss in the maple mixture and bacon.
Return back to the oven for 5 more minutes.
