Lemon Pepper Seasoning
Homemade lemon pepper seasoning is a popular spice blend made from dried lemon zest and black pepper. It can be used to add a tangy and spicy flavor to various dishes and is easy to make at home using simple ingredients. - The zest from 6 lemons
- 2 tbsp Whole peppercorns I use my mixed peppercorn blend
Preheat the oven to 200°. Thoroughly zest the lemons and spread the fresh lemon zest on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Put into the oven and leave until completely dried. Keep an eye on them this. can take 30 minutes to an hour.
While your lemon zest is in the oven, add your peppercorns to your spice grinder and grind.
You can stop here and add your dried lemon zest and grind a few short bursts or as fine as you like for lemon pepper.
If adding extra seasoning add them to the ground pepper and grind a few bursts. Then add your dried lemon zest and grind to your desired grind.
Store in a cool dry place.
Great on steak, chicken, seafood, vegetables, or even popcorn.
