Add the beef and onions to a 12-inch. skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until the beef has browned (about 7-10 minutes), breaking the meat up with your spoon as you go along. If there's a lot of excess fat, drain it.
Stir in the tomato paste and cook, stirring for 2 minutes.
Add all of the seasonings. and stir well.
Add the beef broth, macaroni, and cream.
Stir well and bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and simmer covered for 10 minutes.
Stir in the cheese, recover, and cook for 3 more minutes
I let it sit for a couple of minutes before to serving, but you can serve it right away.
