- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp Apple Pie Spice Blend
- Generous pinch of salt
- 2 Tbsp Butter
Apple Syrup
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the 1 tsp of butter, add the apple, spice blend, and syrup, and stir well. Let cook over medium heat while you make the french toast.
French Toast
In a bowl, combine the eggs, cream, vanilla, spice blend, and salt, and whisk well.
Heat your griddle or skillet over medium-high heat and add one tablespoon of butter.
Dip your bread in the custard, If your bread is stale it actually makes for great french toast because you can let your bread sit in the custard longer and soak up more, but if you have very fresh bread you just want to dip it.
Add the bread to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes a side or until golden brown.
Flip and cook on the other side, adding the other tablespoon of butter if needed.
Remove to a plate and cover with apples and syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
